Analyzer Engineer
Job Experience:
Minimum 5 years experience and job training in the petroleum refinery environment around analyzers and familiarity with the use and care of personal safety equipment.
Education:
Graduate Engineer in one of the following disciplines: Process, Electrical or Control Systems
Certifications:
None required
Key Attributes:
Must be competent, well-informed and able to perform without supervision. Must be aware of client site specific safety rules including notification to designated personnel when working in their area. Ability to coordinate efforts and identify project tasks to be performed in conjunction with the Project Manager. Must demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team and to interface with the client shop personnel, inspection staff, and construction contractors. Must understand and apply all client and Mangan safety policies. Able to climb ladders and work in elevated locations.
Technical Capabilities:
A. Strong background in Analytical Instrumentation and Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS).
B. Ability to write Functional Specifications and Technical Specifications
C. Experienced with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
D. Familiar with startup of process and CEMS analyzer systems
E. Basic knowledge of controls systems and instrumentation as applied to process analyzers and CEMS
F. Ability to specify and procure specialist insturmentation as applied to process analyzers and CEMS
G. Experience and knowledge of the following analyzers is desired: NOx, Sox, CO, Calorimeters, Industrial Gas Chromatographs, NIR
H. Familiarity with source testing, PLC programming, and client database interactions.
