Roberts Companies, Your Employment Specialists

A significant aspect of employment through The Roberts Companies is the benefits package offered to employees. These benefits can represent valuable personal assets in the event of sickness or disability, as well as provide flexibility in planning for a secure retirement.

Our benefits plans are periodically studied to ensure that they are up-to-date and meet the changing needs of our employees. They have been designed to offer our employees a variety of options. This enables an individual to select the kinds of provisions best suited to his or her needs. Certain benefits vary when applied to hourly and salaried employees.

We offer both hourly and salaried employees the following benefits:

  • 401(k) Plan

Employees may voluntarily use our 401(k) Plan to defer taxes while saving for retirement. Working with Transamerica Retirement Solutins, employees may invest in any of several self-directed investment funds. All Company matching contributions are 100% vested immediately.

  • 125 (Flexible Benefit) Plan

This plan allows our employees to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for anticipated medical, dental and child care expenses during the year.
  • Credit Union

  • We are members of the Patelco Credit Union and employees may join if they wish. Among the benefits are free checking and savings, low interest loans, VISA privileges, wholesale store memberships and many other services.

All employees may participate in the following plans:
(Benefit value varies based on hourly or salaried option)

  • Medical Coverage

The Company’s medical benefit provides comprehensive coverage for medical, surgical, and hospital care, including X-rays and prescriptions. The Company offers one medical plan – one of the best health plan packages in the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan.

For hourly employees with benefits, the Company pays for each employee’s coverage and contributes toward dependent coverage. The remaining portion of the dependent coverage cost is paid by the employee through payroll deductions each pay period. Hourly employees with modified benefits can pay the full cost of coverage through payroll deduction. Hourly employees with benefits who waive participation are eligible for payments in lieu of health coverage.
    · Kaiserpermanente

  • Dental Plan

Guardian Dental Plan is a voluntary group plan available to all employees and is designed to assist employees and their dependents with a wide range of dental expenses.

Benefited employees also receive the following:

  • Vacations

Employees accrue vacation bi-weekly beginning with 2 weeks the first year, 3 weeks after 5 years, and 4 weeks after 10 years of employment.
  • Holidays

Employees receive pay for the holidays observed at the specific client location (no floating holidays).
  • Sick Leave

We provide sick leave at the rate of 40 hours per year (after 90 days of employement with Roberts).
Non-benefited employees receive 24 hours per year as required in the state of California.
